Tell me about a time you wouldn’t compromise on achieving a great outcome when others felt something was good enough. What was the situation?
At Northrop Grumman, we have a project that we’ve been working on for a while. We built a solid automation framework and pipeline so we were able to identify issues and get bugs fixed very quickly. Each team members have their focus area. We are ahead of schedule and everyone was feeling good about it.
About two days before we do the demo to the General of the air force, I suggested that we switch the area, and then see if we can find any edge cases that we may have missed. Everyone thought it was already good enough since we’ve been doing a lot of work on it, but I explained that if we have extra time, then we should take advantage of that, and then see if there are any spots that we may have missed.
Everyone was on board after that. In the end, we did not find unknown edge cases, but we got even more confident in our product demo.
