Describe a time when you did not think you were going to meet a commitment you promised. How did you identify the risk and communicate it to stakeholders? Is there anything you would do differently?

When I was with a scooter-sharing company Bird, I took on too many tasks during a sprint while I was also on-call. We had a lot of incidents, so I ended up spending a lot of time helping with the outages and was not able to complete all the tasks that I took.

I had to evaluate the priorities with each task and finish the one that will benefit the team, and the company the most. I talked to my manager about my approach and he was okay with it.

What I should have done is to ask if any of my teammates can help me with my tasks while I was helping with on-call stuff, and take on-call into time consideration before I pick up too many tasks.
